Fine Art and Antiques from Estates and Various Owners

December, 2003

This sale features property from a Georgia Private Collection, mainly formed in the 1960’s and 70’s. This particular collector was ahead of her time with an eclectic sense of style pairing together English and Italian 18th and 19th century furniture with English and Chinese Export porcelain. She had a keen eye and brought everything together in a cohesive manner set upon a magnificent aubusson carpet in her living room. There is also a wonderful group of property belonging to a Pennsylvania Gentleman. He too formed the bulk of his collection in the late 1960’s and 1970’s buying mainly at New York auction galleries. He was an avid collector of impressionist and modern prints, Chinese porcelain and inkwells, much of what you see in this sale.

Some Fine Art highlights from various owners include a beautiful A.T. Bricher watercolor of a seascape, a Guy Carleton Wiggins landscape painting, and a Johann Berthelson oil painting depicting St. Bartholomew’s Church on Park Avenue in winter.
