Fine Art and Antiques from Savannah Estates and Various Owners

January 25th-February 15th, 2007

A large portion of the property in this sale comes from a Savannah Estate. Highlights from this collection include a Louis XVI mahogany and brass mounted bureau a cylinder stamped C. Richter, a drawing by Conger Metcalf, a wonderful 18th century framed needlework, a Louis XV gilt bronze clock, Tiffany and Jensen silver and many other wonderful decorative items.

Other highlights from the sale include a Chippendale mahogany serpentine front card table, New York, circa 1760-80, given to the present owner by Jean Flagler Matthews, the great granddaughter of Henry Morrison Flagler, one of the founders of Standard Oil. Also a Swiss enamel, lapis and agate mystery clock, a wonderful champleve tazza and a Louis XVI gilt-bronze cartel clock signed Michau.

Fine Art includes an abstract oil painting by Alan Reynolds, a well known British Modernist, a Red Grooms lithograph, a drawing of Red Pines by Alfred Hutty, one of the leaders of the Charleston Renaissance, and several paintings by Emanuel Romano.
