Emory L. Jarrott, Savannah,
GA and Other Owners

Featured in the auction is property from the estate of Emory Layne Jarrott, who was a well-known Savannah resident.  He was known as  both a respected Genealogist in Georgia and South Carolina, and as a licensed dog show judge and member of the Savannah and American Kennel Clubs. He was also a member of numerous societies including the Society of Colonial Wars in Georgia and South Carolina; Society of the First Families of South Carolina; Armiger, Her Majesty’s College of Arms, London, England and National Society of Americans of Royal Descent amongst many others.

His collection consists of mainly English and American furniture and decorative arts.  Highlights include a wonderful George II wing chair, an oversized Regency canterbury, two Audubon prints, a painting of a race horse by Colin Graeme Roe and a Fayetteville, NC sampler dated 1820.

Highlights from other owners include an Italian 19th century marble sculpture by Pieter Barranti titled ‘Sogno D’Amore’ or ‘Dream of Love’, an 18th century Louis XV open armchair stamped by Pierre Forget, a selection of couture, 3 Chinese ivory puzzle balls, an S. Kirk and Sons water pitcher and 5 prints by Canadian artist Jack Bush that were acquired directly from the artist.
