Exotic 1960s Concept Cars
Everard’s Oct. 14 auction features exotic 1960s concept cars, sculptural art from the John Bucci estate
Around 1962, Bucci found himself without sufficient funds to buy a car, so he did what came naturally – he made one, a car of the future that he named “La Shabbla,” or “Sword.”
Bucci worked from a studio in Chicago and, later, Savannah. His design oeuvre included functional but avant-garde tables, console bases, and freestanding sculptures made from plexiglass, steel, found objects and wood.
